Brett Jarrett was born in Portland, Victoria, in 1965 and is one of Australia’s finest bird and mammal painters having dedicated most of his life to the study and observation of wildlife. Many years of expeditions as an artist, field biologist, guide and lecturer to remote regions sharing his expert knowledge on bird and mammal identification and behaviour has made him the most travelled and experienced of Australia’s modern day natural history painters.
He has co-authored and illustrated several books dedicated to field identification and anatomical accuracy including: Handbook of Australian, New Zealand and Antarctic Birds, volumes 2 and 3; A Complete Guide to Antarctic Wildlife; Whales, Dolphins and Seals: A Field Guide to the Marine Mammals of the World; and Marine Mammals of the World: A Comprehensive Guide To Their Identification.
