Ian 'Griff' Griffiths only turned full-time wildlife artist in 2006, in spite of Sir Peter Scott's encouragement in the early 70s.
In the past two years, he has been featured in several wildlife and art magazines, selected for the Artists for Conservation’s first exhibition in the USA. He won the Ken Stroud Award for best British wildlife painting at the Wildlife Art Society’s exhibition in 2007, and he was highly commended in its 2008 exhibition. He was also finalist in the wildlife category of the leading US magazine, The Artist, in 2008.
Recently he worked with Professor David Bellamy illustrating projects for his conservation-awareness awards programme, from birds, butterflies to botanical images. He uses different mediums depending on the subject, but mainly acrylics, and watercolour and ink.
Griff lives with his family in Cornwall, UK.
