Noel Ashton

Noel Ashton has studied whales and dolphins for more than 20 years. Specialising in both airbrush and acrylic media, his artwork is highly accurate scientifically and sets the animals in their ocean habitat.

Noel has worked alongside a number of respected cetacean scientists and was the first person to develop a scientific illustration of the endemic heaviside’s dolphin Cephalorhynchus heavisidii. His work has appeared in numerous journals and publications, and his paintings are held in private collections worldwide. Noel works within cetacean conservation in South Africa, developing innovative whale and dolphin exhibitions and displays in collaboration with the International Fund for Animal Welfare.
